    BREAKING:

According to our sources, Rams' HC Pulse is officially retiring from the league.

"It was a great ride and who knows, maybe I'll be back some day, but for now I think this is the right move for me, the Rams and the entire league." Pulse said.

With a record of 1-15, HC Pulse certainly had a rough year, but that's not the reason for his retirement. Here's what he had to say about that:

" You know, I've been in this league for quite some time now. I experienced wins, I experienced losses. I went to the playoffs (until this day I hold a positive record of 2-1 in the playoffs) and even got into the Hall of Fame. Besides winning a Superbowl, I've achieved everything I wanted when starting to coach in this league and now I'm pleased to know I'll be able to spend more of my time on other interests outside of the league. I want to thank the Houston Texans, the Dallas Cowboys, the Indianapolis Colts, the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Rams for welcoming me with open arms and giving me the opportunity to coach in this league."

This retirement also means the end of the Hollywood Herald as you know it. Maybe it will be continued under a new regime some day, but for now this chapter is coming to its end.

We would like to thank our readers for tuning in and wish you all nothing but the best in the future.

    -------

    We ARE BACK! | Interview

It's been a long time since our last article and it's been very quiet around the Hollywood Herald.

Now we're excited to officially announce that WE ARE BACK!

For our first article after that long break, we are thrilled to welcome HC Pulse here for a short Q&A about the team. Enjoy!

Hollywood Herald: Coach Pulse, welcome! It's been a tough season for you, you haven't been able to win a game yet and the Playoffs are off the table for you this year. What's wrong and how do you intend to fix the issue?

Pulse: Thanks for having me! Yes, we definitely didn't have the success we wanted to when starting into the season. I think the biggest issue is consistency. The first few weeks we had a new playbook every game. Adopting a new playbook needs time and we had to figure out how we want to proceed going forward as we missed the Pre-Season and the tournament. After we found our playbook, now I was unavailable for a few weeks and we had to play with an interim HC for some time. So we lacked consistency in coaching there. After I was back, we weren't able to train as much as I would have liked so we just din't have enough reps and that showed in games as we did some stupid mistakes that are uncommon for us.

I think we'll get better. We won't go 0-16, don't even worry about that. However our focus is on next season, even tho we have no 1st round pick. We'll look to add a RB as we probably will let go of Miller so maybe we get a steal in the 2nd there, we'll see. I think we just need time, reps and overall consistency, that's it.

Hollywood Herald: So will you tank the season?

Pulse: Never. We'll try to win every remaining game and take that momentum into next season. We don't even have a 1st rounder, so tanking would be absurd.

Hollywood Herald: There have been rumors that you are considering retirement. Is there some truth to that rumor?

Pulse: I'll definitely finsih this season as best as I can. What happens after, isn't decided yet. All options are on the table, however if I decide to retire, it will be much more likely to happen after next season instead of after this season.

Hollywood Herald: Thanks a lot for your time!

Pulse: Always a pleasure with you guys, we'll talk again soon!

    Hollywood Herald | Interview

It's been 3 weeks since the 2020 MFL season started and we're starting to see some tendencies about the teams and their play. Today, we were able to get an exclusive interview with Rams HC Pulse about the state of the franchise and the current season.

HH: Coach Pulse, welcome and thanks for being here to answer our questions! After seeing your team play for 3 weeks, what is your impression about this team so far?

Pulse: Hey guys, thanks for the invitation! I have to say I did expect us to be in a better position after 3 weeks. A 0-3 start is rough and certainly won't help our odds of getting to the playoffs. We have a lot of work to do as we're nowhere near to my vision of what this team can be. I have to do a better job calling plays, the players have to do a better job executing. I'm mostly pleased with our offense so far. Jared (Goff) has to do a better job protecting the football when playing from behind, but he's shown a lot of talent managing the offense in general. So Goff gets a + from me so far. We worked with 3 different playbooks in the first 3 weeks and he was very fast at picking it up. I'm sure we'll talk about other individual players later so I'll just say I'm pretty pleased with our passing offense, we have work to do with our rushing offense and our defense is just horrible right now. The most glaring issue is our run defense. I'm a little bit surprised about that to be honest as we have studs with Donald and Brockers at our interior but teams were able to just run and run and run all day against us. Sure, those teams had good OLines with the Cowboys, Eagles and Bills, but giving up around 200 yards per game on the ground, is inexcusable. We were constantly forced to play with heavier personell than we'd like to do, like coming out in a 3-4 base against 11 personell, which we usually play Nickel against. We did that to even have a chance at stopping the run, otherwise we probably would have given up 300 rushing yards a game or more. So we had to do that because we couldn't stop the run in Nickel against 11 personell, however that left the door open for the passing game, because now we couldn't match one of those 3 WRs with a CB. That's mostly why our passing defense struggled as much as it did. So if our rushing defense improves, our passing defense will improve too. We'll have to figure that out in the next few weeks or it will be a very rough season.

HH: So let's talk about that rushing defense. It seemed like it was surprisingly superstar DE Aaron Donald and star DE Michael Brockers that struggled with closing their gaps. Especially for Donald, that's a big surprise and he's been mostly invisible in all 3 games. What's going on with him?

Pulse: I don't know man. He's the best player in the league but he's not playing like his talent suggests. I don't know if it's the scheme that doesn't suit him, if he has some mental stuff going on or if it was just 3 unfortunate games for him, but he has to figure it out. We pay him for being a disruptive force in the interior and he hasn't been this so far. We have to focus on the weaker players like our LBs and we NEED Donald to be an anchor in that defense to rely on, just like we need to rely on Ramsey in our passing defense. And right now Ramsey delivers, Donald doesn't.

HH: So let's talk about the offense which probably will need to carry the defense to victories in the future until Donald and Brockers figure it out.

Pulse: Sure thing! As I said before, I think Goff is doing a good job overall. His picks came mostly in situations where he HAD to try to make plays because we were behind with not much time left. I rather have him throw a pick there while trying to make a play instead of checking it down and basically giving up on the game. Our passing offense is very good. We have to include WR Cooper Kupp a little bit more but it's been good to see TE Higbee making a big jump and being basically a Mini-Gronk for us. Our OLine has to do a better job runblocking and give RB Miller and RB Akers better holes to run through. We'll implement more PA passes from now on, so that should help the offense a bit too. We'll be fine in that area. Again, we experimented with 3 different playbooks, but nwo I think we'll roll with the one we used last game, so more experience with it should allow us to open it up a little bit.

HH: With Aaron Donald struggling.... is there a chance he'll be traded? Would you listen, if a team calls about him?

Pulse: No. No chance. Next question.

HH: How are the new players you signed through Free Agency or via Trade doing so far?

Pulse: So we traded for CB Chidobe Awuzie. He's doing okay thus far. Not great, not horrible. But he'll be fine, just has to get some time adjusting to a new defense. K Aldrick Rosas, our Waiver claim.. well he struggled last game. Not gonna lie, that was rough. He played good before that so we hope that last game was a fluke. LB Dawson is starting and doing well. QB Allen hasn't played yet but in practice he looked sharp. We hope we won't need him of course. WR Nelson was great in game 1, couldn't get much done after that. But that was due to his matchups and deep safeties too. If the situation is right, he'll do a lot of damage. More of a situational player, keeps defenses honest. TE/FB Murray has done a great job so far. The running game worked much better with him on the field. Maybe we'll implement more I-Formation in the future to keep him on the field.

HH: What's your goal for the next games?

Pulse: Figuring out how to stop the run. Plain and simple. We're losing small right now, next step is turning that into winning small, so we can win big in the future. We have a tough road ahead, but we'll figure it out.

HH: Thanks Coach Pulse for your time. We'll talk again soon!

Pulse: Always a pleasure with you guys from the Hollywood Herald. Bye!

    @BroncosWire:

Recently claimed RT Murray was open to a position switch, per sources. He's now listed as a TE, but will play as the team's FB too.

"We'll use him on a case-by-case basis, whenever and wherever we need an additional big bodied blocker." Pulse announced

    @HollywoodHerald:

Rams lose to the Cowboys with 48-38 (accumulated score) after the game was interrupted and restarted multiple times. Cowboys were the better team today (and yesterday) but Rams were in the game the whole time. No need to panic right now.

"We thank the Cowboys for their patience. We hope our next games won't face issues like that anymore." - Coach Pulse said after the game

    @HollywoodHerald:

    BREAKING:

Today's game against the Cowboys was postponed to Thursday 10 pm. Unfortunately there have been major connection issues that caused several interruptions.

"We apologize to our opponents, the Cowboys and hope that tomorrow there won't be any problems" Coach Pulse said.

    Hollywood Herald via Twitter:

Rams sign QB Kyle Allen and waive QB John Wolford. A significant upgrade at the backup QB position for the Rams. If Goff goes down, Rams have still a chance to win with Allen.

    Hollywood Herald via Twitter:

BREAKING: Rams recently aquired CB Chidobe Awuzie agreed to terms on a 4 year deal worth 36.6 million (9.15 million/year) according to our sources. Nice payday for the 25 y/o former Cowboy.

    Hallo Vilsi1978 ,

    Hollywood Herald | Player Spotlight

It's been a busy week since our last edition of the Hollywood Herald and the Rams made a few roster moves, we'd like to introduce to you.

In our last player spotlight we wrote about how new RB Lamar Miller will fit in with the team and what he brings to the table. So with our new lead-back secured, the Rams front office used their 2nd FA pick on WR J.J. Nelson, securing an exciting new weapon for the offense. After the FA draft, the Rams immediately put their 2 waiver claims in and were able to get LB Noah Dawkins and K Aldrick Rosas. On top of that, a big trade happened last week in which the Rams aquired CB Chidobe Awuzie from the Cowboys in exchange for SS Johnson, who was on the tradeblock for a while already. So let's dive into it:

    Name: J.J. Nelson

    Position: WR

    Age: 28

    Height: 5'10"

    Weight: 160 lb

J.J. Nelson is the definition of a speed WR. He's extremely fast and always poses the threat of a big-play TD. Speed is something the Rams offense lacked before the signing of Nelson. He will force defenses to play with 2 high safeties, leaving room to run for newly aquired RB Miller. We expect to see his name called in the motion and sweep game a lot, keeping defenses honest. Right now he's behind WR Reynolds and WR Jefferson on the depth chart, however we expect to see him overtake Jefferson pretty quickly and having an impact from the start of the season similar to what Coach Pulse did with WR Emanuel Hall in his first year with the Broncos.

    Name: Noah Dawkins

    Position: MLB

    Age: 23

    Height: 6'1"

    Weight: 235 lb

After the Rams were unable to get a trade done for the LBs on their wishlist, they secured the speedy LB Dawkins. He's still very young an can be coached up, but his pure athletic skills are off the charts. He can hang with any TE in the game and probably most WRs too. He'll play alongside LB Kiser as a starting LB for the Rams and could really surprise fans with his impact he'll have on the defense.

    Name: Aldrick Rosas

    Position: Kicker

    Age: 25

    Height: 6'3"

    Weight: 221 lb

Rosas is an immediate upgrade to the current Rams K Sloman. He has a very powerful leg and can kick the ball as far as anyone in the league. With him, the Rams feel very confident attempting 50+ yard FGs. He was one of the better kickers in the league when playing on the Giants' team before. The Rams are really looking to upgrade their special teams with the aquisition of Rosas and Nelson, who will also serve as the team's punt and kick returner. According to our sources they are not done in that area yet and are still looking for some players to improve that often unheralded part of the team.

    Name: Chidobe Awuzie

    Position: Cornerback

    Age: 25

    Height: 6'0"

    Weight: 202 lb

Awuzie is a high caliber starting CB in this league who is already familiar with Coach Pulse and his system, as he played under Pulse when he coached the Dallas Cowboys. He's very athletic and can hang with 95% of WRs in the league. At 25 years, his development also isn't finished yet. We expect him to become one of the premier CBs in the league. And he has all the tools to become just that. The Rams were really looking to get another stud CB on their team alongside CB Ramsey to prevent teams just throwing away from Ramsey all game long. With Awuzie, they now have 2 guys who can lock down the WRs of the opponent both in man and zone coverage. The price for him wasn't cheap - the Cowboys asked for SS Johnson in return - but he definitely is worth the price especially since the Rams were already looking to move away from Johnson since he was too slow for their preferences and the Rams are thrilled to have Chidobe here, allowing the entire defense to play very aggressive.

We're very excited to see those guys in blue and yellow for the first time and hope they have a welcoming new start in Los Angeles.
